IT & Tech CareersĪ while ago (wow, 4yrs now) I posted a topic questioning the validity of the term "computer science". Many of you have gone through some formal academic training to be where you are now.Easy, right? I can use Print Management to remove locally installed print. Hey guys,I've got a client that needs printers deployed properly and am in need of a script or program or something to wipe all existing printers from all profiles on all computers.

If you insist on supporting those archeological versions of Mac OS, you should invest in Acronis Files Connect (formerly Extreme Z-IP) to provide a very good/performant AFP service.
#SMBUP MOJAVE MAC OS#
Those ancient versions of Mac OS (X) can't run any current (meaning patched & safe) browser - not Firefox, not Chrome. Ĭurrent versions of Mac OS support SMB v3, 10.9 and higher support SMB v2. Mac OS "Mojave" (10.14) is still getting security updates but as a known (long-established) pattern from Apple, those will taper off at some point. The current version of Mac OS is 10.16, it's best practice to cycle-out/upgrade to at least n-1 (where n is current) which will get security updates for some time still.

Those XP systems had better be silo'd (no internet access at all) an/or hopefully your company did purchase extended support to get critical security updates. Part of the problem is you're using ancient operating systems, and trying/hoping to interact with a very current server OS.įor starters: No-one should be using 10.9 let alone 10.5 (!!) they're not safe to use online. Does anyone have experienced something like that? I also tried to setup ftp from different machines not only the server and this mac still cant find even the ftp. The other 2 Macs that are 10.5 are working perfectly with the same settings. The version of Mac is 10.9.5 and it cant get any updates. I tried putting the ip, tried with cifs, tried different account, checked firewall, reinstalling os, nothing is working. I can ping server address but whenever i try to connect via connect to server, i put the address of share as usual, it asks for passwords and the it says The was a problem connecting to server.

It has exactly the same network settings as the other 2, same workroup same everything. It cant see other computers in Network except the other 2 Macs. The 3rd Mac is the one that has a problem. They share files with server and between them.

#SMBUP MOJAVE WINDOWS 10#
The other 5 are mixed windows 10 and windows 7Īll the pc and Macs are networked perfectly. Its a file server with smb1/cifs enabled because there are 2 windows XP in network for combability reasons with some printers. Server is Windows Server datacenter 2019. I have a network consisted of 10 clients and 1 server.
