The Energy Manager asked ESC Automation to implement a program to stagger the ASHP operation in order to reduce demand while maintaining building and occupant comfort.ĮSC Automation used CopperTree Analytics to investigate the pilot building of Brooke Elementary, track historical energy consumption versus occupancy, predict demand, and track and report savings. Doing so would minimize the demand charges triggered by their concurrent starts. In searching for potential load shedding opportunities, the Energy Manager of the Delta School District wanted to implement a program to stagger the start of the ASHPs. As a result, electrical demand was highest in the morning and led to demand charges from the utility company. To prepare the rooms for school start times, all units were enabled at the same time in the morning. The schools have identical layouts and building systems and are served by air source heat pumps (ASHP) that provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Setting up multiple sites in a single BACnet network produces communication problems in the CopperCube. The Delta School District has an inventory of 17 pod-type elementary schools.
#COPPERTREE COPPERCUBE ARCHIVE#
These trend logs will be set to Not Archived by default.Īutomatic Trend Logs archive settings under the Sites and Devices Ranges tab 6: Define a BACnet Site and Device Ranges However, in most cases, instead of allowing the system to choose all trend logs, you want to select specific trend logs to archive.Įven though the automatic selection is turned off, CopperCube will still continue to discover new trend logs on the site. Turn Off Automatic Selection of All Trend Logs when the Automatic Trend Log Selection box is selected, CopperCube will automatically discover and archive all trend logs it finds on the site. This setup information is used to ensure that data from CopperCube is mapped to the correct building in Kaizen. This site name will also need to be entered into Kaizen so that your Kaizen account presents the correct data. See Sites for information on defining your site(s).
#COPPERTREE COPPERCUBE SOFTWARE#
The site provides a definition for the CopperCube software to be able to connect to the BACnet network and retrieve data. Settings > Sites and Device Ranges: You must have the CopperCube connected by the BACnet port to the building control network to configure the Sites and Devices. If the setup is correct, you should see the status page of the CopperCube graphical user interface (UI).ĬopperCube IP configurations found under IP settings tab of the settings page 5: Add a site
